Server downtime soon.
I know my game server is not listed on the site anymore but it is still up, briefly. We are in the process of moving from NY to IN and the game server will need to be brought down during the move. Hopefully this should take no longer than a couple of weeks. Don't worry about the website stu-pidaso.net as this site is hosted off site. I will continue to keep this site up as long as people show an interest in Half-Life and want to customize it. See everyone soon!

FYI I am still looking for "stripper" files since my server had crashed. These are text files that change weapons and entities in maps. They would normally be named something like bootcamp_str.cfg

Thanks!

Still here.
I have temporarily removed the server info window that was on the right side of the site. I am in the process of moving from New York to Indiana and am currently at a temporary location for the next 3 to 4 months while we have a house built. There server is still up but may change IP from time to time. I am also hoping to have time and money to rebuild my server in between the move.

Great News!!!
The hosting company I am with, 1and1, has removed their monthly transfer limits. This means one of 2 things. The first is 1and1 once again leads the way in webhosting solutions but more important is I have opened up the download and gallery section to all. That's right. You no longer have to register to download files!!! You will still need to register to post in forums or play in the arcade though. Don't forget we do have a page with my full map collection here. Make sure to give the page time to load as I have close to 2000 maps for download.

Sorry not much more news. A lot of changes both good and bad happening in real life but nothing to keep me from running this site!

Site and Server Changes
As you may see above I have made some changes to the site. The forums here never really have gotten much action. I do not know if this is because no one notices there is a forum here or what but I thought I would bring the 3 most recent post to the top center of the site.

The Half-Life server has had some new maps added recently. AudioMan612 has given me a few maps that are hard to find as well as make some suggestions in the forum for some other maps. DocRock, a very well known mapper in the Half-Life community has made some maps for Wetworks Entertainment. These maps can be found on DocRocks site as well as in my maps download section where I have over 2000 maps!! The server now has over 460 maps! Look to see even more added this year.

You probably have noticed for awhile now you do not need to be registered to view videos. I decided to remove that requirement awhile back. You are still required to be logged in if you want to post in the forum or download from the "download" section, not the maps page. This will allow you to rate the files you download.

And last thing is I want to point out a rather new site put together by the creator of PlanetPhillip.com. Phillip has been in the Half-Life community for a long time and his new site Valve Community is a collection of sites such as mine that support Valve games.

Bots bots bots
I have decided to add a couple of bots to the server. After many failed attempts and searching through tons of sites with no help I decided to call on my friends at GTS. [GTS]Raven pointed me in the right direction with JKBotti which can be found at bots-united. Raven was also cool enough to give me some config files to start me out. Stop in and slap the bots around. They might even talk to you!

New site feature!
Trying to make the site cleaner and leaner and at the same time make myself more accessible. I have removed the front page stats for the games but the games themselves are still on the site. To make myself more accessible I have added a live chat plugin on the right side of the site. If you see me online feel free to message me with any questions or comments! All for now, frag ya later.

Awsome Video
Today I have a first for the site. I am posting a video that I feel deserves attention. The video is a short movie called Escape from City 17. The following is from their post on youtube.

Directed by The Purchase Brothers.

The Escape From City 17 short film series is an adaptation based on the Half Life computer game saga by Valve Corporation. Originally envisioned as a project to test out numerous post production techniques, as well as a spec commercial, it ballooned into a multi part series. Filmed guerilla style with no money, no time, no crew, no script, the first two episodes were made from beginning to end on a budget of $500.

Additional Notes:

Valve flew the team out to Seattle last year, and the brothers have been in communication with them since.

David and Ian Purchase are commercial directors represented by Sons and Daughters in Toronto. They are working on an unannounced feature film. Not HL related.

They have been huge fans of HL since the days of "ivan the space biker'
